    About the Role

The Account Manager is a territory owner responsible for driving revenue growth, managing a portfolio of commercial and industrial electrical service accounts, and leading a team of five to ten service technicians across an assigned Texas market. This is a dual-role position requiring both a skilled salesperson and an operationally sharp service leader. Account Managers are responsible for new business development, customer retention, field operations, and territory profitability — from first contact through invoice collection.

We are building out to twelve Account Managers across five Texas territories (three to four per territory minimum) with a goal to be fully staffed in all markets simultaneously. This is a ground-floor opportunity to own a territory and grow within a rapidly expanding electrical services organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    Sales & Business Development

    • Prospect, qualify, and close new commercial and industrial electrical service accounts within assigned territory.

    • Develop and execute a territory sales plan targeting manufacturing, food and beverage, aviation, and other industrial sectors.

    • Conduct needs assessments, present service solutions, and negotiate contracts and pricing agreements.

    • Maintain an active pipeline of leads and opportunities; manage forecasting through CRM.

    • Attend industry events, trade shows, and association meetings to generate referrals and build market presence.

    • Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within the existing customer base.

    Customer Relations & Account Management

    • Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for all assigned accounts.

    • Conduct regular on-site visits to maintain relationships and assess service performance.

    • Resolve escalations, customer complaints, and service issues quickly and professionally.

    • Negotiate contract renewals and service agreement expansions.

    • Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively address any risk of churn.

    Field Operations & Team Leadership

    • Directly manage five to ten service technicians; oversee daily scheduling, dispatch, and workload allocation.

    • Ensure all field work meets quality standards, safety requirements, and SLA commitments.

    • Mentor, coach, and develop technicians; conduct performance reviews and set individual goals.

    • Coordinate training, certifications, and compliance requirements for field staff.

    • Collaborate with the AR department to ensure jobs are properly documented and billed.

    Financial Accountability & Revenue Management

    • Own territory revenue targets and maintain profitability at approved margins on all accounts and service work.

    • Price jobs and contracts accurately; protect margin through disciplined quoting and scope management.

    • Coordinate with Accounts Receivable to ensure invoices are accurate, submitted promptly, and collected on time.

    • Monitor account payment status; actively follow up on outstanding balances and flag collection risks.

    • Prepare and present monthly territory reports covering revenue, pipeline, and profitability performance.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Minimum 5 years of sales and account management experience in electrical services, industrial services, or a closely related trade.

    • Hands-on electrical experience required — must understand electrical systems, maintenance, and service delivery at a working level.

    • Proven ability to manage and develop a field team of five or more technicians.

    • Demonstrated sales track record: new business acquisition, contract renewals, and account growth.

    • Experience managing profitability and pricing in a service business environment.

    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

    • Proficiency with CRM software and field service management tools.

    • Valid Texas driver’s license; willingness to travel throughout assigned territory regularly.
