Account Manager (Health Insurance Producer's License)

Location: Primarily Remote (Candidates must reside in DC, MD, VA, PA, DE, or WV)
Type: Contract (W-2)
Compensation: $34.02 per hour
Travel: Up to 70% travel during Open Enrollment season

Overview
We are seeking an Account Manager I to serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for employer groups and key client stakeholders. This position plays a critical role in supporting employee benefits programs, driving enrollment growth, enhancing client satisfaction, and delivering exceptional service throughout the client lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have experience in employee benefits, account management, open enrollment support, client relationship management, and benefit administration. This role is primarily remote but may require occasional onsite attendance for training and team meetings.

Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary point of contact for growing and retaining group enrollment, including benefit interpretation, claims analytics, and issue resolution for clients' HR staff, brokers, and consultants.
• Travel in and out of state to meet client requirements, providing discretionary judgment to enhance the client experience.
• Act as an integral partner within the account management team for new and renewing business, supporting sales strategy and benefit design modeling.
• Utilize expertise in benefits, business acumen, and analytical skills to resolve client issues and requirements.
• Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients, collecting data on consumer behavior to understand evolving needs.
• Document, track, coordinate, and close account issues, ensuring clear communication of results to clients.
• Participate in benefit analysis and develop structured programs to engage members, including open enrollment strategies and wellness services deployment.
• Partner with colleagues to conduct nationwide employer and employee educational sessions, both in person and virtually.
• Assist with new business implementation and account renewal processes to enhance client satisfaction.
• Keep clients informed about legal developments and regulatory changes related to insurance, ensuring compliant administration of benefit programs.

Requirements
• Active Health & Life Insurance Producer License for DMV.
• Bachelor's Degree required (in lieu of a degree, an additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered).
• 3+ years experience in account management, sales support, client services, benefit administration, service, or related area.
• Strong knowledge of employee benefits and health insurance plans, including PPO, HMO, and open enrollment processes.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel extensively.
• Strong presentation, communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of insurance information, technology, and current legislation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
