    Description

    As a member of the Sales team, the Account Executive will be responsible for selling Tyler's Public Safety Pro suite of products, designed to support small to mid-sized public safety agencies. Public Safety Pro supports law enforcement records, mobile solutions, citation management, and computer-aided dispatching (CAD) for police, fire, and EMS agencies.

    In this role, the Account Executive will create and execute a strategic sales plan to grow Public Safety Pro market share through both expansion/inside sales and net-new/outside sales within an assigned territory. Responsibilities include prospecting, full-cycle sales execution, targeted expansion sales, cross-sell opportunities, and SaaS migration opportunities. The Account Executive will also provide limited sales-related coordination for third-party licensing/procurement, renewals, orders, and invoice-related questions or handoffs when directly tied to revenue opportunities.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop knowledge of Tyler's Public Safety Pro products and services as they relate to small to mid-sized public safety agencies.
    • Build relationships with prospective clients to sell Public Safety Pro products and services.
    • Prospect, identify, and develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
    • Manage complex sales cycles from lead generation to close of sale.
    • Create and execute a strategic sales plan for the assigned territory, target market, and Public Safety Pro prospect base.
    • Identify and pursue targeted add-on, expansion, cross-sell, and SaaS migration opportunities.
    • Coordinate and participate in sales presentations, product demonstrations, trade shows, and on-site meetings.
    • Maintain and manage accurate forecasts, opportunity details, sales activity, and pipeline information in CRM.
    • Communicate effectively with internal staff, prospective clients, and existing clients as needed to support active sales, renewal, or expansion opportunities.
    • Partner with internal teams to support sales-related order processing, including licensing, hardware, contract documentation, third-party procurement details, and other information required for accurate order entry and fulfillment.
    • Support renewal-related sales coordination by identifying potential expansion opportunities and ensuring appropriate internal handoff of renewal, quote, or invoice-related information.
    • Coordinate on invoice or order questions only as they relate to active sales opportunities, closed transactions, renewals, SaaS migrations, or expansion sales.
    • Assist with preparation of RFP responses, sales proposals, quotes, and related documentation.
    • Travel to customer locations, trade shows, and on-site demonstrations, approximately 60% of the time.
    • Meet a pre-set annual sales quota.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    • Previous experience in software sales, inside sales, outside sales, account expansion, or another revenue-focused client-facing role.
    • Ability to generate new business while identifying and advancing qualified expansion opportunities.
    • Ability to manage sales activity across prospecting, discovery, follow-up, proposal support, negotiation, and close.
    • Prior experience using a CRM system for forecasting, opportunity management, pipeline tracking, and sales activity reporting.
    • Strong communication, follow-up, organizational, and documentation skills.
    • Must possess a competitive drive and results-oriented approach.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, prospects, and employees.
    • Ability to travel 60% within the region on a consistent basis.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience selling public safety software applications, including CAD, Records Management, Jail Management, Mobile, or related solutions, is strongly preferred.
    • Experience selling to small to mid-sized public sector or public safety agencies is preferred.
    • Experience identifying and following up on add-on, expansion, cross-sell, or SaaS migration opportunities from lead generation through close or appropriate internal handoff is preferred.
    • Experience coordinating with internal operations, contracts, finance, order management, or related teams to support sales transactions, renewals, licensing, hardware, third-party procurement, or invoice-related activity is preferred.
    • Central or Southern U.S. location preferred.
