Job Summary:
Responds to phone and e-mail inquiries from the Company’s individual market brokers/agency partners, working with internal areas to resolve issues. Supports Account Manager(s) in offsite broker meetings and events and internal meetings and projects.
Responsibilities:
Responds to broker inquiries via phone and e-mail regarding enrollment, billing/refunds, broker portal troubleshooting, marketing materials, plan benefits, claims, etc. Coordinates with other internal business areas to address broker questions and concerns.
Develops and maintains effective business relationships with assigned brokers to achieve annual retention targets. Creates procedures to effectively manage the agency to meet individual market service objectives.
Collaborates with Account Manager and attends external sales meetings/presentations with broker agencies, as well as internal corporate meetings and projects. Accompanies Account Manager on Broker office visits. Supports presentations, broker continuing education, etc.
Generates and distributes reports from broker portal and other systems to brokers and agencies.
Maintains awareness of product and process changes and Health Care Reform topics by participating in staff meetings and webinars and independent research.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
Equivalent education and experience directly related to the role may substitute for a degree.
3 years of customer service and/or sales/account management support experience, preferably in the health insurance industry and/or dealing with insurance brokers.
Professional Certification(s):
Ohio Department of Insurance License (Health & Life) preferred.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
Knowledge of health insurance products; sales and industry processes including underwriting, benefit plan design; health care funding arrangements; and related laws/regulations including HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA.
Ability to support Account Manager with broker presentations.
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel).
Basic proficiency with Customer Relationship Management or similar systems.
