Accompanist

Position Purpose

Under the general supervision of the building principal, to support student learning by providing piano accompaniment and assistance to music teachers while working with students.

Essential Job Functions

• Provides piano accompaniment to the music department for classes, concerts, rehearsals, and other celebrations
• Improvises accompaniments from lead sheets
• Assists in preparation for concerts include program coordination, guest performers, stage setup and teardown on an as needed basis
• Assists with section rehearsals and performs related work
• Assists the classroom teacher in maintaining a classroom environment conductive to learning
• Maintains a regular and predictable attendance history while employed by the district
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal and other central office administrators as designed by the Superintendent.

Qualifications Profile

• Valid Nebraska drivers license or ability to provide own transportation for district related events
• Professional level ability to play the piano, organ, harpsichord or electronic keyboard
