The role manages the interactive accommodation process for disability and religious accommodation requests, applying the ADA, ADAAA, PWFA, PUMP Act, FMLA, and related state and university policy.
This posting will be filled at one of two levels, based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience:
• Accommodations Specialist: manages the day-to-day interactive accommodation process and
resolves most cases directly, escalating especially complex matters to the Director of ERE/ADA Coordinator for final determination.
• Accommodations Coordinator: manages the day-to-day interactive accommodation process and provides independent authority over final accommodation determinations, complaint investigation and resolution, and institution-wide compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities (Both Levels):
- Facilitate the interactive accommodation process, reviewing medical/religious documentation and correspondence to determine reasonable accommodations
- Maintain confidential case files and produce case management reports and metrics
- Serve as a resource for supervisors and departmental representatives on accommodation-related questions and processes
- Develop and deliver training and resource materials on accommodation processes and disability-related topics
- Support the University's broader ADA compliance and program-development initiatives
- Proactively partner with Employee Relations, Benefits, and the Time & Leave teams and others on complex employee matters, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of accommodation, leave, benefits, and employee relations considerations to support well-informed and organizationally aligned decisions.
Additional Responsibilities at the Coordinator Level:
- Serve as the University's designated ADA point of contact, with final decision-making authority on the most complex accommodation determinations
- Receive, investigate, and resolve ADA-related complaints and grievances in accordance with university procedures
- Interpret evolving federal, state, and local disability law; recommend and implement policy updates
- Provide oversight, consultation, and escalation support to departmental representatives across campuses
- Chair or represent the University on relevant accessibility committees and working groups

What You'll Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and five years of relevant experience.
- Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
- Knowledge of ADA, ADAAA, PWFA, PUMP Act, FMLA, Workers' Compensation, and related accommodation/leave programs.
- Strong communication skills across audiences with varying levels of familiarity with the topic.
- Experience with case management systems and HR/HRIS databases.
Candidates with the following qualifications and experience may be considered for the Accommodations Coordinator role:
- 3–5 years of direct experience in disability services, ADA/504 compliance, or accommodation case management.
- ADA Coordinator Training Certification Program (ACTCP) completed or in progress.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range
Accommodations Specialist: $47,486 - $59,500
Accommodations Coordinator: $55,000 - $74,000
