Access Control Specialist (Clearance Sponsorship)

The Access Control Specialist supports secure site operations at Ft. Meade, Maryland, by controlling access to restricted areas, verifying credentials, and monitoring entry and exit activity. It requires a TS/SCI clearance, which CenCore will sponsor for selected candidates who do not currently hold one, and employment is contingent on obtaining and maintaining that clearance.

The Access Control Specialist supports secure site operations at Ft. Meade, Maryland, by controlling access to restricted areas, verifying credentials, and monitoring entry and exit activity. This role serves employees and visitors, providing professional customer service while upholding site security protocols. Specialists help prevent unauthorized entry and the removal of prohibited or restricted items, protecting the secure environment the mission depends on. The position is full-time and non-exempt. It requires a TS/SCI clearance, which CenCore will sponsor for selected candidates who do not currently hold one, and employment is contingent on obtaining and maintaining that clearance. The position also depends on completing the Clearance Allocation process (including adjudication), HR physical and background screening, and successful completion of training, which is paid. A start date depends on completion of these steps. Key Responsibilities Control employee and visitor access to restricted areas by verifying credentials and authorizations.Prevent unauthorized entry and the removal of prohibited or restricted items from the premises.Monitor entry and exit activity and maintain continuous surveillance of assigned areas, reporting issues or irregular activity promptly.Provide high-quality customer service to employees and visitors while maintaining site security protocols.Apply access control procedures and security protocols accurately and consistently throughout each assigned shift.Communicate clearly and professionally in all interactions, both verbal and nonverbal.
