    Access Control / Low Voltage Security Technician

    Position Overview

    We are seeking 5 experienced Access Control / Low Voltage Security Technicians to support commercial security installation and retrofit projects. Technicians will install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot access control systems, surveillance cameras, door hardware, and associated low-voltage infrastructure.

    Responsibilities

    • Install and replace access control systems and field devices.
    • Install and terminate door contacts, request-to-exit (REX) devices, electric strikes, magnetic locks, and other access control hardware.
    • Install and terminate RS-485 communication wiring for access control devices.
    • Install and terminate HID card readers and associated access control components.
    • Install and configure IP and CCTV security cameras.
    • Terminate and test low-voltage cabling for access control and camera systems.
    • Label, test, and troubleshoot access control panels, readers, door hardware, and camera systems.
    • Perform functional testing of access control systems, including:
      • Badge readers
      • Door contacts
      • Request-to-exit devices
      • Door forced alarms
      • Door held-open alarms
    • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and construction drawings.
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area while following all site safety requirements.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 2 years of commercial access control or low-voltage security experience.
    • Experience installing and troubleshooting commercial access control systems.
    • Experience with door contacts, card readers, electric locks, and access control hardware.
    • Experience installing and terminating RS-485 and low-voltage wiring.
    • Experience installing and servicing IP or CCTV camera systems.
    • Ability to read wiring diagrams and construction drawings.
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
    • Experience working in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, or data centers.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to climb ladders and work above ceilings.
    • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in mechanical or electrical rooms for extended periods.
