TradeSTAR is partnering with an established low-voltage contractor to hire a skilled Security Lead for commercial electronic security projects throughout the DFW area. Our client is a well-established communications and low-voltage contractor with more than three decades of industry experience and a strong national presence. They specialize in design-build solutions for commercial voice, data, audiovisual, and electronic security systems, supporting large-scale projects and nationwide rollouts.

What You'll Do

As a Security Lead Technician, you will:

  • Lead crews on commercial electronic security installations and coordinate daily project activities

  • Install, program, and maintain access control systems, including card readers, biometric devices, electric strikes, magnetic locks, and control panels

  • Install and troubleshoot CCTV, surveillance, and intrusion alarm systems

  • Integrate access control platforms with video, alarm, and building management systems

  • Pull, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling and related infrastructure

  • Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, and wiring schematics

  • Conduct site surveys and assist with project planning and material coordination

  • Troubleshoot system issues and perform repairs to ensure optimal performance

  • Maintain accurate project documentation and system records

  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to Helper, Apprentice, Level I, and Level II technicians

  • Ensure projects are completed safely and in compliance with industry standards and local codes

What We're Looking For

Qualified candidates should possess:

  • Experience leading commercial electronic security installations

  • Strong knowledge of access control platforms such as Lenel, HID, Honeywell, or similar systems

  • Experience with CCTV, surveillance, and alarm systems integration

  • Understanding of low-voltage wiring methods, power supplies, and system architecture

  • Ability to program and configure security management software

  • Experience using cable testers, multimeters, hand tools, and installation equipment

  • Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities

  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation

  • Flexibility to support project schedules, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed
