    Shape Safer Facilities with CGL

CGL plans, designs, and manages maintenance programs for justice and other public facilities across the United States and internationally. CGL Facility Management, LLC delivers comprehensive, contract-based facility maintenance services to commercial clients.

    A Day in This Role

Morning starts with a quick check of scheduled work orders in our CMMS. You’ll prioritize preventive maintenance on mechanical and electronic locking devices, verify door position sensors are reporting correctly, and tune panic hardware so emergency egress is reliable. By mid-day, you might be wiring card readers and scanners for a new controlled-access zone, aligning electromagnetic latching systems, or servicing a pneumatic lockset. When an urgent ticket comes in, you’ll respond swiftly to restore a malfunctioning electric door, keeping operations on track and secure.

Throughout the day you’ll key and re-key cores, establish or refine master key systems, clean, lubricate, and adjust locksets, and replace worn keys or cylinders. Every task is documented clearly and completely—records, logs, and work orders—in line with client contracts, quality and accuracy expectations, and OSHA requirements. You’ll communicate timelines to the Facility Manager or Supervisor, uphold tool control and lock control policies, mentor teammates on the basics of the trade, and stay current on emerging locksmith technologies and trends.
