The Student Support Aide assists the Academic Support Staff and teachers to provide instructional, behavior, or physical assistance and support for students and implement teacher directed instruction. They will collaborate and communicate with academic support teachers, classroom teachers, and parents. This position is provided through NAFC schools.
QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate shall possess characteristics that reflect:
A strong clear Christian testimony with a mature and godly spirit
A daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of school
Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith
The candidate shall possess:
A Bachelor''s degree preferred
Minimum of 2 years'' experience working with and encouraging students who learn differently.
Ability to manage groups of children in a positive, consistent manner-reflecting the love of Christ.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
Help prepare, collect and set-up materials for student participation, following teacher direction
Maintain daily activity logs for your assigned student(s)
Alert teacher to any problems or special information about your individual student(s)
Implement and maintain student specific behavior, medical, emergency, or crisis management plans
Monitor students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment
Perform related work as required
OUTCOMES
Regular and on-going intervention for students in Academic Support
Support Academic Support staff in progress monitoring
Increase the ratio of support services provided in the high school.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The Academic Support Aide will have a dual reporting role to the High School Principal and the Educational Resources Director.
