    Applied Academic Instructor

    Reports to: Academic Manager
    Classification: Exempt

    Required Qualifications

    To be considered for the Applied Academic Instructor position, candidates must have:

    • A bachelor’s degree in Education
    • A current/valid state teaching certification
    • A valid driver’s license

    Skills & Experience

    The successful candidate should also demonstrate the ability to:

    • Teach academic subjects using an approved curriculum.
    • Manage a classroom effectively and maintain a safe, respectful learning environment.
    • Use different teaching methods to accommodate students with different learning styles, needs, and abilities.
    • Use technology and computer-based instructional tools effectively.
    • Apply competency-based instruction, cooperative learning, and other student-centered teaching strategies.
    • Establish positive, professional relationships with young adults and serve as a mentor and role model.
    • Work effectively with students who may need additional academic, personal, or career support.
    • Provide appropriate academic and personal guidance while maintaining professional boundaries.
    • Collaborate with counselors, nurses, disability coordinators, and other staff to support student success.
    • Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation.
    • Help students develop workplace readiness, professionalism, and Career Success Standards.
    • Support student attendance, progress, retention, and successful program completion.
    • Communicate effectively with students, coworkers, families, and other stakeholders as appropriate.
    • Follow all applicable Job Corps, Department of Labor, company, safety, and confidentiality requirements.
