We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor for our 5th-grade son in Oakland, CA, to assist with academic enrichment and competition preparation. This role will involve exploring interests within the 5th-grade curriculum, guided by provided scope and sequence, and preparing entries for various academic competitions, including MOEMS, Math Kangaroo, AMC 8, Scholastic Art & Writing, PTA Reflections, and science fairs. The position may also include facilitating structured courses such as Beast Academy.
The sessions will occur once or twice a week during the school year, with each session lasting 1-2 hours based on the student's needs and availability. Compensation ranges from $45-65 per hour, DOE, plus bonuses.
Bonuses are available, including $150 for competition recognition and $300 if 4s are earned on 75%+ of first-semester marks.
Ideal candidates are undergrads or grad students with experience in similar competitions and working with children. Please share your background and experience.
