    Position Summary

    The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is seeking an Academic Cytopathologist for a tenure-track/tenured, fixed-term, or variable track position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. We are a subspecialized Anatomic Pathology division, and preference will be given to candidates with fellowship training and/or expertise in Cytopathology. Those who are willing to provide additional coverage in Head and Neck Pathology, Thoracic Pathology, Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology, and/or other Surgical Pathology Sub-specialty are also encouraged to apply. Participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards and effective communication with an active clinical care team that provides statewide integrated care is required. The successful candidate will be eligible for membership in the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, with opportunities to collaborate with a robust array of basic, translational, and clinical researchers. In addition to teaching clinical residents and fellows, opportunities are available for teaching in the School of Medicine, Graduate School, and Undergraduate School.

    Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

    Applicants must have an MD, DO or other MD-equivalent degree, be board-certified or board eligible in Anatomic Pathology, and be eligible to obtain a medical license in North Carolina.

    Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

    Sign-out experience and/or fellowship training in Cytopathology is strongly preferred.
