ECU Health Physicians and ECU Health Medical Center, located in Greenville, North Carolina, are seeking a Clinical Pathologist with expertise in Transfusion Medicine to lead their blood bank and transfusion medicine program. The successful candidate will support high?quality patient care by overseeing blood bank operations and providing expert clinical consultation. Applicants should be board certified or board eligible in clinical pathology or combined anatomic pathology and clinical pathology.  3+ years experience is required

Additional training in histocompatibility and immunogenetics (with ASHI certification) is a plus.

  • Transfusion Medicine Service at ECUHealth Medical Center supports an active Level I adult and pediatric trauma service as well as comprehensive clinical specialty services including hematology/oncology, cardiovascular surgery, and solid organ transplantation
  • Clinical and leadership responsibilities will include:
    • Manage daily clinical operations of the ECU Health Medical Center Blood Bank
    • Provide transfusion medicine consultation services to clinicians across the health system
    • Participate in after?hours, weekend, and holiday on?call coverage for transfusion medicine and clinical laboratory services
    • Collaborate closely with other clinical pathologists to ensure safe, efficient, and evidence?based transfusion practices
    • Support continuous quality improvement and compliance with regulatory standards
