Academic Advisor

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Pay rate: 32.00/hr. 

Introduction

This role involves providing academic counseling and support for graduate recruitment and admissions. The position requires a combination of on-site and remote work, with a focus on advising students, maintaining records, and coordinating various academic processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum years of experience: 2
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Ability to interpret and communicate academic policies and procedures accurately
• Prior work experience at the client or in the client's industry
• Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in higher education, preferably in graduate admissions, recruitment, or academic advising
• Experience using Student Information System (SIS), application management systems, and CRM platforms
• Experience supporting international students and familiarity with F-1 visa regulations

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Advise current and prospective graduate students on admissions, curriculum, degree requirements, academic progress, financial aid options, and graduation clearance
• Maintain accurate applicant and student records and coordinate registration, grading, enrollment verification, petitions, transfer-credit evaluations, and related processes
• Support graduate recruitment and admissions by preparing applications for review, managing application data, and responding to applicant inquiries
• Host or support virtual and in-person information sessions and other graduate recruitment and admissions events
