Department: Accounting Certificate Program Salary: 43,000 - 48,900

Description:

Provides comprehensive advising to a diverse student population with moderate independence. Handles more complex cases and supports student success initiatives.

  1. Advises students on academic planning and degree completion strategies, as well as academic progress concerns (probation, retention).

  2. Analyzes degree audits and recommends solutions.

  3. Identifies at-risk students and develops intervention plans.

  4. Participates in recruitment, advising workshops, and outreach.

  5. Collaborates with faculty and departments on student issues.

  6. Maintains caseload of students and tracks outcomes.

  7. Processes Veteran''s Administration paperwork, writes graduation verification letters, and provides financial aid appeals.

  8. May assist in recruiting high school and community college students and may make presentations at special events.

  9. Performs other job-related duties as required.

Additional Position Information

Description:

This position works in the Department of Accountancy & Taxation at the C. T. Bauer College of Business. This position engages with students to advise them on academic requirements for degree progress, course selection, policies, procedures, and resources based on an assessment of individual student needs.

Successful candidates will have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, work well under pressure, consistently meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects while remaining flexible and positive. This will require exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Position includes the following responsibilities but not limited to:

  1. Advise current post-baccalaureate and graduate accounting students with attention to detail and accuracy.

  2. Process academic forms and letters related to academic advising.

  3. Assist with planning and executing events for current accounting students.

  4. Be adaptable to change, as constant improvements are being made in advising.

Preferences:

  • Experience in Higher Education
  • Experience directly in academic advising

Qualifications: Education will be considered in lieu of experience.

Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience.
