Job Description:
The New York County District Attorney''s Office (DANY), Construction Management Unit seeks one (1) Air Condition (AC) Mechanic with knowledge and experience in inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and installing ventilation, refrigeration, air conditioning, and related auxiliary systems and equipment. The AC Mechanic, (under direct supervision), will work collaboratively with other technicians and mechanics in performing maintenance and repairs of AC equipment to fully serve DANY's internal customer base at all DANY facilities and locations. Please note: This is strictly an AC Mechanic position and does not entail any steam time.

Available to work the following shifts:
Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; OR
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Available to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime assignments on short notice.

Current office employees: To be eligible for a transfer or promotion, staff must have already served at least 1 year in their current unit/bureau/department and be in good standing. In addition, must meet the minimum and additional qualifications of the position.
Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position.
HPPT CS Requirement: The final candidate must either hold the HPPT CS title, have previously taken and passed the HPPT CS examination, or, if the examination is not currently available, agree to take and pass the examination when it becomes available.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Two years of full-time satisfactory experience operating and maintaining high pressure boilers or the equivalent marine experience; or
Not less than one year of experience as described in "1" above plus sufficient training of a relevant nature acquired in an approved trade school, technical school, or vocational high school or education of a relevant nature at an accredited college or university to make up the equivalent of the remaining required experience. Six months of acceptable experience will be credited for each year of approved trade school, technical school, vocational high school, and/or college education. License Requirement For appointment to certain positions a Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York is required. Such license must be maintained for the duration of such appointment.
