OB/GYN University-Based Generalist - Assistant/Associate Professor
James H. Quillen College of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, East Tennessee State University offers a full or part-time opportunity to a physician who is board certified or board eligible at the time of hire with competitive salary and benefits. This is a 12-month clinical track position. Faculty rank commensurate with education and experience. Clinical track appointments may be convertible to tenure-track no later than the end of year three of the appointment.
Responsibilities:
This position reports directly to the Chair of the Department of OB/GYN and is based on an annual renewable contract, contingent upon performance. A portion of this role may be grant-funded. Completion of corresponding medical records and billing is required. Evaluations of students and resident physicians will be performed on an ongoing basis. Clinical education in the form of didactic lectures, informal discussions, and precepting is expected. Clinical research and performance improvement projects, in collaboration with residents and students, is expected. Participation in the hospital department and hospital committees is encouraged.
This position will report to the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The position is based on an annual renewal contract.
Our out-patient care is located in a single multi-specialty clinical education building across the street from Johnson City Medical Center, which is our primary in-patient site. JCMC is a designated tertiary care and level 1 trauma center and part of the State of Tennessee's perinatal network. We care for patients in Northeast Tennessee as well as Southwest Virginia, Northwest North Carolina, and Southeast Kentucky.
