    JOB TITLE: Substitute Teacher

    REPORTS TO: Principal and Human Resources

    TERMS: 187 days (as needed)

    DEPARTMENT: Human Resources

    PAY GRADE: $80.00/Daily Rate; $85.00/Daily Rate; $100.00/Daily Rate depending on education

    Primary Purpose:

    Responsible for carrying out the lesson plans of the absent teacher and meeting the duties of teacher as outlined in district policies.

    Qualifications:

    Education/Certification:

    • Minimum of 30 college semester hours
    • High School Diploma or GED required

    Special Knowledge/Skills:

    • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

    Experience:

    • Working with diverse groups
    • must be 21 years old to accept high school assignments

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Follow lesson plans left by the teacher in accordance with district's philosophy, goals, and objectives
    • Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated
    • Establish and maintain order in the classroom
    • Maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning
    • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, materials, equipment, and facilities
    • Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and school board policies
    • Cooperate with school personnel
    • Report to the principal or his/her designee at the beginning and end of the school day
    • Perform other duties as assigned
