We are seeking a dynamic, student-centered 7th Grade Math Teacher to join our virtual learning community in Indiana. This educator will deliver engaging, standards-aligned mathematics instruction in an online environment while also serving as a homeroom/advisory teacher and facilitating the Preparing for College and Careers (PCC) course-providing students the opportunity to earn high school credit as early as 7th grade.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, tech-savvy, and passionate about building relationships with students and families while preparing learners for both academic success and future career pathways.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
- Deliver high-quality, synchronous and asynchronous 7th grade math instruction aligned to Indiana Academic Standards
- Utilize virtual platforms and digital tools to create engaging, interactive learning experiences
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs, 504plans, and varying skill levels
- Monitor student progress and provide timely, actionable feedback
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance
Homeroom/Advisory Leadership
- Serve as the primary point of contact for a caseload of students and families
- Facilitate regular advisory/homeroom sessions focused on organization, goal setting, and social-emotional learning
- Build strong relationships with students to support engagement, attendance, and overall success
- Collaborate with families to ensure consistent communication and student support
Preparing for College and Careers (PCC) Facilitation
- Teach and facilitate the Preparing for College and Careers course for middle school students earning high school credit
- Guide students through career exploration, goal setting, employability skills, and academic planning
- Support students in developing individualized graduation and career pathway plans
- Integrate real-world applications and career readiness skills into instruction
Communication & Collaboration
- Maintain consistent communication with students, families, and school staff
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school events
- Collaborate with special education staff, counselors, and administration to support student success
- Respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner
Qualifications
- Valid Indiana Teaching License (or ability to obtain) in Mathematics or appropriate content area
- Experience teaching middle school math preferred
- Experience in virtual or blended learning environments strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of Indiana Academic Standards
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to build relationships in a virtual setting
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered practices
