Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated 6th Grade Science Teacher to inspire students through hands-on exploration and inquiry-based learning. The ideal candidate will foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and curiosity about the natural world while maintaining a positive classroom environment and supporting the social-emotional growth of our students.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Education from an accredited college or university.
Must hold a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with one of the following:
- Secondary Teaching Certificate, or
Elementary Certificate with a 6-8 Science Endorsement
Science Endorsement (DX) required.
Experience teaching middle school science preferred.

- Familiarity with technology tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with state standards and meets the needs of all students
- Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning
- Assess student learning regularly and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes respect, kindness, and a love of learning
- Commitment to maintaining a supportive, respectful classroom and school culture.
- Familiarity with PBIS, Restorative Practices, and MTSS models preferred.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs
- Attend and participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities
- Ability to analyze data in order to plan for students in a MTSS model.
- Act as a representative of the district when greeting and interacting with parents, community members, vendors, students, and other employees.
Salary: Per Master Agreement
