Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Structural Welder to join a premier fabrication operation in Catoosa. This position is responsible for welding structural steel components and skids using MIG and Flux Core welding processes while maintaining established quality, safety, and production standards.
The ideal candidate has previous skid fabrication experience, strong structural welding skills, and the ability to consistently produce high-quality welds in a fast-paced industrial fabrication environment.
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 1 year of MIG and Flux Core welding experience required
Previous skid fabrication and welding experience required
Ability to perform structural welding on steel components
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to successfully complete the required welding test
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
Strong commitment to workplace safety and fabrication standards
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform structural welding using MIG (GMAW) and Flux Core (FCAW) processes
Fabricate and weld structural steel components and skid assemblies according to specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings
Prepare, fit, and align components prior to welding as required
Produce high-quality welds that meet company and industry standards
Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and visible defects
Safely operate welding machines, grinders, and related fabrication equipment
Maintain productivity while meeting project and production deadlines
Keep welding stations and surrounding work areas clean and organized
Follow all company safety regulations, welding procedures, and quality requirements
Perform additional welding and fabrication duties as assigned
Weld Test Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete a Structural Welding Test consisting of:
Open Root MIG Weld
Flux Core Fill and Cap
Completed weld must meet required visual inspection and quality standards
Preferred Qualifications
Structural steel fabrication experience
Additional skid fabrication and assembly experience
Experience working in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments
Strong blueprint and weld symbol reading skills
Fitting, layout, and fabrication experience
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and working in various welding positions
Ability to safely operate welding and fabrication equipment while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working around structural steel, welding equipment, grinders, heat, sparks, and industrial machinery
Ability to perform physically demanding fabrication work throughout the workday
Work Environment
Industrial welding and structural fabrication facility
Hands-on fabrication of structural steel components and skid assemblies
Exposure to welding equipment, fabrication machinery, heat, sparks, noise, and heavy materials
Fast-paced production environment focused on safety, quality, and productivity
