Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day and Night Rotation Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a dedicated Neuro specialty ICU. License: Must hold an active state nursing license. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Must-Have: - Competent in Hourly Neurological Assessment. - Intracranial Pressure Management. - Management of External Ventricular Drains (EVD). - Experience with Subarachnoid Hemorrhage Management. - Post-thrombectomy and post-craniotomy management. Description: This role involves providing nursing care in a high acuity Neuro ICU. The position requires rotating day and night shifts with a weekend requirement. Nurses will participate in patient care that includes managing complex neurological cases. Daily patient ratios are 1 nurse to 2 patients for day and night shifts. Nurses may float to other facilities as required. Responsibilities include assessment, monitoring, and implementing care plans for patients with neurological disorders. Candidates should be proficient in various procedures and management techniques related to neurology. Experience with trauma and emergency management is preferred. Familiarity with electronic medical record systems is essential. The unit operates as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level 1 Trauma Center. Teamwork and effective communication with interdisciplinary teams are vital for success in this role. All nurses are expected to adhere to infection prevention protocols and maintain high safety standards.
