Picture your day: you kick off with a quick huddle alongside engineers, review a complex print, and fixture a workpiece on a DMG Mori 5-axis mill with Siemens controls. You dial in the setup, prove out toolpaths, and turn challenging materials—like Inconel or even metal 3D-printed preforms—into tight-tolerance parts. As production scales, you toggle between prototypes and batches, always looking for a cleaner cut, a smarter sequence, a more efficient approach. Over the first months, you’ll start editing existing programs; by 6–12 months, you’re on a clear path toward authoring full CNC programs.

What You’ll Do

  • Set up and operate 5-axis CNC mills to create complex, high-precision components.
  • Move fluidly between rapid prototype work and ramping production as capacity grows.
  • Partner closely with engineering to troubleshoot, iterate, and improve manufacturability.
  • Ramp into programming responsibility: begin by refining/editing programs and progress to full CNC programming within 6–12 months (e.g., Mastercam or similar CAM).
  • Machine a range of materials, including exotic alloys like Inconel and metal additively manufactured parts, based on experience.

What You’ll Bring

  • Hands-on 5-axis milling experience — non-negotiable.
  • Strong diagnostic mindset and comfort operating beyond rigid, predefined procedures.
  • Authentic drive to level up into a more technical, programming-focused role.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with DMG Mori equipment.
  • Familiarity with Siemens controls.
  • Mastercam or other CAM programming background.
  • History machining Inconel or other exotic alloys.
  • Exposure to metal 3D-printed parts.
  • Background at a fast-growth space/aerospace hardware company (e.g., SpaceX, Rocket Lab, Vast).

Core Proficiencies

  • 5-axis
  • Problem solving

Machines & Technologies You’ll Use

  • DMG Mori
  • Siemens controls

We’re scaling our in-house machining capability and investing in developing machinists into programmers—not just hiring to fill a seat. If you want ownership, variety, and a clear growth runway, you’ll fit right in.
