What Youll Do
- Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures in the assigned section
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment
- Ensure quality control procedures are properly followed
- Process and analyze patient specimens accurately and efficiently
- Utilize Laboratory Information Systems for data entry and reporting
- Notify relevant personnel of critical lab results
- Assist in the development and validation of new testing protocols
- Cross-train across multiple laboratory sections as needed
What You Need
Required:- Louisiana license for medical technologist, MLS, CLS, or MLT
- Certification from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS, with maintained current status
- Bachelors degree or higher in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution (or equivalent training)
- No experience required for graduates of accredited programs; 1 year of relevant experience preferred
Preferred:- Experience in blood banking, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, immunology, or urinalysis
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
