Duties:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs, including goals related to literacy, math, communication skills, and behavioral health
- Design and deliver dynamic lesson plans that incorporate evidence-based teaching strategies for upper elementary students
- Utilize classroom management techniques to create a positive, structured learning environment that promotes engagement and minimizes disruptions
- Collaborate closely with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and other specialists to integrate speech therapy and behavioral health interventions into daily activities
- Conduct assessments and standardized testing to monitor student progress and inform instructional adjustments
- Provide tutoring and mentoring support to reinforce learning objectives and build confidence
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, IEP implementation, behavioral management strategies, and communication with families
Qualifications:
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
- Possess or able to obtain a Degree or Masters in Special Education
- Classroom experience as a student or practicing teacher, otherwise experience working with School Aged Students or Special Education
- Candidate must possess Strong Communication and Classroom Management Skills
- Candidate must exhibit the ability work in a collaborative high energy environment
- Strong knowledge of childhood development, early intervention techniques, and behavior management strategies to develop engaging lesson plans
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, therapists, and support staff
