Warehouse Operator – Metal Processing (3rd Shift)

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Hours: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Regular Schedule: Sunday through Thursday
What You Will Be Doing
We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Warehouse Operator to join our team on 3rd shift!
You will work as part of a team responsible for ensuring metal materials are cut accurately, safely, and on schedule to meet customer demands. This position involves operating a variety of industrial metal-cutting machines, measuring materials, and safely moving large materials throughout the facility.
The ideal candidate will have previous sit-down forklift experience, good measuring skills, basic computer knowledge, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for someone looking for a long-term position with the potential to become a permanent member of our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of industrial metal-cutting machines.
- Measure and cut materials according to customer specifications and work orders.
- Read, understand, and follow written work instructions and cutting orders.
- Ensure materials are processed accurately and completed within production deadlines.
- Safely operate a sit-down forklift to move, load, unload, and position materials.
- Operate an overhead crane after completing required training.
- Work independently with minimal supervision to ensure timely completion of customer orders.
- Verify material dimensions and quantities for accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work with team members to meet production goals and customer delivery deadlines.
- Follow all company safety procedures and operating guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills We Seek
- Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or metal-processing experience preferred.
- Previous sit-down forklift operating experience required.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure to 1/16-inch increments.
- Ability to perform basic decimal-to-fraction and fraction-to-decimal conversions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to properly use and read measuring instruments, including micrometers and calipers.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and work orders.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills and willingness to be a team player.
- Willingness to complete required overhead crane training.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, climb, bend, and move throughout the workday for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial warehouse and metal-processing environment.
- Must successfully complete annual vision and hearing examinations.
- Ability to safely perform the essential physical duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Training Schedule
Initial training will take place on 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
Candidates must be available to train on 1st shift before transitioning to their regular 3rd-shift schedule.
