3rd Shift Extruder Utility Operator

What You’ll Do
As an Extruder Utility Operator, you will help operate and maintain equipment throughout the Extrusion department, including Extruders, Auto-Die, Corrugators, and One-Pass Lines.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Set up, operate, and monitor production equipment.
  • Perform machine changeovers, startups, and die changes/gapping.
  • Load and thread raw materials and monitor material flow.
  • Adjust machine settings such as temperatures, speeds, feed rates, and tooling.
  • Operate conveyors, feed rolls, ovens, pumps, and related equipment.
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Monitor coating thickness, appearance, dimensions, and overall product quality.
  • Identify defects and make adjustments when necessary.
  • Monitor raw material rolls and perform splices to maintain continuous production.
  • Operate auto-die cutting equipment.
  • Move raw materials and finished products throughout the production area.
  • Remove scrap and waste materials.
  • Complete production paperwork and record downtime and material information.
  • Perform routine maintenance and assist with troubleshooting.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow all safety procedures and required PPE guidelines.
  • Rotate between different positions and perform various tasks within the production cell.

  • Must be willing to complete in-plant crane training and certification.
  • Must be available for overtime and flexible scheduling when production demands require it.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand and walk for most of the shift.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and some climbing.
  • Routinely lift approximately 10 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Some materials may weigh up to approximately 75 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with temperatures ranging from approximately 55°F–100°F, with higher temperatures near ovens for short periods.
  • Noise levels can reach approximately 94 dB.
