    Description

    Novacel is looking for a 3rd Shift Coating Operator who will run high-performance coating machinery in a fast-paced production environment. In this role, you’ll keep operations running safely and efficiently while ensuring products meet the highest standards of quality.
    This is a hands-on position where you will set up, operate and troubleshooting machinery while supporting and mentoring helpers.     Key Responsibilities:
     
    Machine Operation:
    • Set up, operate, and adjust coating machinery to meet production targets and specifications.
    • Monitor machine performance and identify operational issues to minimize downtime.
    • Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating and replacing basic components.
     
    Production & Quality Control:
    • Inspect in-process and finished products to ensure quality, coating consistency and absence of defects
    • Maintain accurate production documentation, including machine settings, production outputs and quality checks.
    • Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and staging of finished goods.
     
    Safety & Compliance:
    • Champion a culture of safety by consistently following and enforcing all safety policies and procedures.
    • Serve as a role model for proper PPE usage and regulatory compliance.
    • Conduct routine safety inspections and promptly report or escalate hazards.
    • Handle hazardous materials safely and in accordance with environmental regulations.
    • Maintain accurate production, quality, and safety documentation.
     
    Team Leadership & Support:
    • Provide direction and assistance to helpers during production runs.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate workflow and production priorities.
    • Support the training and mentoring of entry-level employees on safe and efficient machine operation.
     
    Additional Responsibilities:
    • Support departmental initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
     
    Qualifications & Skills:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Minimum of 1 year of machine operator experience (coating, slitting, laminating, or similar manufacturing equipment preferred).
    • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn and troubleshoot machine operations.
    • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
    • Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality.
    • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
