    3RD SHIFT CNC MACHINIST NEEDED - DUNDEE, MICHIGAN

     

    A Leading Automotive Supplier in Dundee, Michigan needs a 3rd Shift CNC Machinist. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.

     

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    This is a 3rd Shift Position with opportunities to work on a variety of complex machining projects in a clean, safety-focused manufacturing environment.

        Set up and operate multi-axis CNC machining centers to produce precision components.
        Edit and optimize CNC programs to improve efficiency, cycle times, and quality.
        Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and machining specifications.
        Develop machining strategies that minimize setups while maximizing productivity.
        Select tooling, fixtures, speeds, and feeds appropriate for each job.
        Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments, including:
        Micrometers
        Calipers
        Dial indicators
        Vernier measuring tools
        Operate manual shop equipment including:
        Knee mills
        Surface grinders
        Manual lathes
        Band saws
        Hand tools
        Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
        Perform routine preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
        Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S principles.
        Work independently while collaborating with engineering, quality, and production teams.
        Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safety-first workplace.

     


    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

     

        High School Diploma or GED.
        3 5+ years of CNC Machining Experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
        Experience setting up and operating multi-axis CNC equipment.
        CNC programming or CNC / CAM editing experience.
        Working knowledge of G-Code and M-Code.
        Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
        Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and precision measurement.
        Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
        Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
        Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Word.
