    The ideal candidate is a student-centered educator who believes all children can learn at high levels and is passionate about creating an engaging classroom where young learners develop strong foundations in literacy, mathematics, critical thinking, and faith. This teacher will work closely with Second and Fifth Grade teachers, administration, and resource specialists to ensure student success.

    Essential ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Student Learning- Plan and deliver engaging standards-based instruction aligned to California Common Core Standards and diocesan curriculum expectations.- Implement research-based literacy and mathematics instruction.- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English Learners and students requiring additional academic support.- Utilize student data to inform instruction and monitor academic growth.- Maintain a positive, structured, and nurturing classroom environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.- Integrate technology and blended learning practices to support personalized instruction.

    Collaboration- Collaborate regularly with grade-band teachers to ensure curriculum alignment and smooth student transitions between grade levels.- Work closely with intervention teachers, counselors, learning specialists, and Mother Pia resource staff to support student success.- Participate actively in grade-level bands, faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.- Communicate effectively and proactively with families regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.

    Catholic Identity & School Community- Model Catholic values and support the mission of Catholic education.- Participate in weekly school Masses, prayer services, liturgical celebrations, retreats, and faith formation opportunities.- Foster a classroom culture rooted in respect, service, compassion, and the Dominican values of study, prayer, community, and preaching.- Support school traditions, House activities, family events, and community-building initiatives.
