Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced 3G Vessel Welder for a premier manufacturing client in Catoosa. This position is responsible for welding pressure vessel and structural components using MIG (GMAW) and Flux Core (FCAW) welding processes while maintaining strict quality standards and code compliance.

The ideal candidate has previous vessel or heavy structural welding experience, can interpret fabrication drawings, and consistently produces high-quality welds in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.



Required Experience & Skills
• Minimum 2 years of MIG (GMAW) and Flux Core (FCAW) welding experience required
• Previous vessel, structural, or heavy fabrication welding experience preferred
• Ability to perform high-quality 3G vertical welding
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to pass required welding qualification tests
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance



Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform vessel and structural welding using MIG and Flux Core welding processes
• Weld in the 3G (vertical) position while maintaining quality and code compliance
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings
• Produce high-quality welds that meet company and industry standards
• Inspect completed welds for quality, penetration, and overall workmanship
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all company safety procedures and welding standards
• Meet production schedules while maintaining strict quality expectations



Weld Test Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete:

• 3G Vessel Welding Test
• Open Root MIG Weld
• Flux Core Fill and Cap
• Must successfully pass visual inspection and all required quality standards



Preferred Qualifications
• Pressure vessel fabrication experience
• Heavy structural steel welding experience
• Knowledge of AWS and ASME welding standards
• Experience working in industrial manufacturing or fabrication environments



Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in various welding positions throughout the shift
• Ability to safely operate welding equipment while wearing required PPE
• Comfortable working around heavy steel, welding fumes, sparks, heat, and industrial machinery



Work Environment
• Heavy industrial manufacturing and pressure vessel fabrication facility
• Exposure to welding equipment, heavy steel materials, overhead cranes, heat, sparks, and fabrication machinery
• Fast-paced production environment focused on safety, quality, and productivity
