Qualifications:
Education/Certification :
Bachelor's
degree
in
business,
marketing,
public
relations,
public
administration,
sports
management,
or
related
field
Experience:
Minimum
of
five
(5)
years
progressive,
responsible
experience
in
the
management,
operation,
marketing,
and
maintenance
of
public
sector
convention
facilities,
performing
art
centers,
or
other
arena
venue
facilities
Special
Knowledge/Skills:
Strong
management
skills,
including
knowledge
of
financial
management,
administration,
budgeting,
and
personnel.
Knowledge
in
the
formulation
of
policies
and
procedures
Ability
to
manage
multiple
projects
Knowledge
of
event
planning
Major
Responsibilities
and
Duties:
1.
Assist
the
Executive
Director
in
developing
policies
and
procedures
related
to
the
facility's
operation.
2.
Provide
input
to
the
Executive
Director
in
developing
and
managing
the
facility's
budget.
3.
Supervise
the
assigned
clerical
functions
of
the
facility.
4.
Consult
with
various
users,
promoters,
convention
representatives,
and
others
regarding
physical
setup
needs
and
requirements
for
designated
areas.
5.
Communicate
customer-specified
event
needs
and
requirements
to
staff
to
ensure
these
needs
are
met.
6.
Establish
short-
and
long-term
guidelines
for
each
event
for
staff
and
service
providers,
serving
as
a
reference
for
current
and
future
events.
7.
Implement
and
oversee
the
customer
service
standards,
policies,
and
procedures
of
the
Curtis
Culwell
Center.
8.
Inspect
facilities
regularly
to
ensure
they
are
properly
maintained
for
events.
9.
Recommend
actions
necessary
to
maximize
customer
satisfaction
and
promote
repeat
business
to
the
center's
executive
director.
10.
Report
problems
along
with
proposed
solutions
to
the
Executive
Director.
11.
Analyze
conditions
and
problems
independently
and
take
appropriate
actions.
12.
Maintain
a
flexible
schedule
as
dictated
by
event
schedules.
