Primary
Purpose:
Ensure
a
high
degree
of
safety
and
security
for
students,
staff,
families,
community,
and
district
property
by
monitoring
and
patrolling
campus
grounds
and
buildings.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High
School
Diploma
or
equivalent
Valid
Texas
Class
C
driver's
license
and
proof
of
insurability
to
operate
district
vehicles
Experience:
Minimum
of
three
(3)
years
of
experience
working
in
security
Experience
in
an
education
environment,
preferred
Special
consideration
is
given
to
applicants
with
relevant
military/law
enforcement
experience
or
military
veterans
with
honorable
discharge
Special
Knowledge/Skills:
Aptitude
for
successful
completion
of
assigned
tasks
Ability
to
work
under
pressure
in

security
officers,

Major
Responsibilities
and
Duties:
Security
1.
Monitor
all
properties,
alarms,
and
telephone
systems
continuously.
2.
Work
closely
with
staff,
students,
families,
community
members,
and
local
law
enforcement
to
assist
as
needed.
3.
Provide
asset
protection
by
patrolling
school
property,
including
physical
property
checks
as
needed,
and
monitoring
premises
for
the
presence
of
non-district
persons.
4.
Managing
security
needs
to
include
emergency
management
matters.
5.
Provide
metal
detection
and
site-based
security
for
athletic
and
other
district
events.
6.
Provide
emergency
management
training
for
students
and
staff;
assist
with
campus
drills
and
exercises
as
requested
by
campus
staff.
7.
Use
the
department
software
to
log
all
activities.
8.
Maintain
and
clean
the
district
vehicle
for
each
shift.
9.
Maintain
professional
standards
of
conduct
when
dealing
with
students,
staff,
and
community
guests.
10.
Practice
high
safety
standards
at
all
times.
11.
Assist
with
any
security
issues
as
directed
by
the
director
of
security.
12.
Perform
all
other
duties
as
assigned.
