    Description

    Title: 2nd shift Production Supervisor (Powder Coating)
    Location: Libertyville, IL
    Hire Type: Direct Hire
    Schedule: 3pm - 1:30pm Monday-Thursday
    Compensation: $80k-85k per year + performance bonus
    Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k

    This role oversees a powder coating department on 2nd shift, leading a team of 15–20 employees. The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring production schedules are met, quality standards are maintained, and team members are properly trained. This position requires strong hands-on powder coating experience as well as proven supervisory skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    Job Duties:
    • Supervise, direct, and support 15–20 employees on 2nd shift.
    • Train new employees on powder coating processes and departmental responsibilities.
    • Start or verify proper startup of the line daily.
    • Manage daily workflow to meet production demands.
    • Oversee loading and unloading of parts on/off the powder coating line.
    • Confirm quality of masking, plugging of holes, and thread protection prior to coating.
    • Ensure compliance with customer-specific paint class and quality requirements.
    • Prep parts per production schedule, coordinating with hangers to avoid missed work orders.
    • Monitor packaging of parts and orders prior to shipment or transfer to inventory.
    • Communicate daily with management, HR, and other departments via email.
    • Troubleshoot line equipment and resolve issues as needed.
    • Multi-task and manage priorities in a high-paced environment.

    Qualifications:
    • Powder coating application experience required (2–3 years preferred).
    • Previous supervisory experience required (2–3 years minimum, with responsibility for 8–12+ people).
    • Strong communication skills (oral and written) with ability to give detailed instructions.
    • Detail-oriented, team-focused, and quality-driven with a zero-defect mindset.
    • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
    • Proficient computer skills.
    • Ability to stand for full shifts, lift up to 35 lbs., and perform repetitive reaching, turning, and twisting
    • Forklift experience.
    • Experience with ERP or scheduling systems.
    • Exposure to OEM quality standards
