Our Aerospace and Industrial seals and rings manufacturing company in Hanover PA is now hiring a 2nd shift Production Supervisor. The Production Supervisor will manage, analyze and facilitate production activities while supporting our Safety and Quality standards. Now is your chance to join our [aero]dynamic team! Key Responsibilities (include and are not limited to): - Monitors daily production output and delivers corrective actions.
- Independently analyzes product and equipment specifications and performance.
- Day-to-day meeting of the production goals while maintaining both Quality and Safety standards.
- Coordinate with Operations Manager for resource analysis and capacity planning.
- Plan and assign work according to changing priorities.
- Motivates machine operators to achieve daily production goals.
- Initiate continuous improvement activities to improve product flow.
- Train, mentor and supervise the machine operators for continued improvement of skills and development of human capital.
- Perform defect root cause analysis and mitigation.
- Perform departmental administrative duties as assigned.
- Engages in disciplinary actions as needed.
Education / Experience: - Minimum education HSD or GED; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-years supervisory experience in manufacturing setting.
- Experience in managing and inspiring direct reports.
- Union experience preferred.
- Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.
- Ability to train on 1st shift.
Skills, Knowledge & Other Requirements: - Experience in precision machining of very tight tolerance parts. Strong oral and written communication skills and high confidence in providing recommendations.
- Must have an inquisitive nature to understand how factory processes impact results to effect change.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees.
- Ability to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal.
- Experience working with exotic materials.
- Experience in implementing and applying Lean manufacturing techniques in an Aerospace manufacturing setting. Formal Lean training a plus.
- Experience in prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting production goals within time and budgetary constraints.
- Experience in developing human capital through selection, teaching, training & mentoring.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to clearly communicate at all levels within the organization, both written & verbally.
- Honesty and strong work ethic; Passion for supervising and problem solving.
Preferred Qualifications: - Blueprint reading, and knowledge of GD&T symbols, and interpretation.
- The ability to use precision hand tools for measurements such as calipers, micrometers, drop gages, etc.
