Overview We are seeking a skilled and dependable 2nd Shift Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain CNC equipment used to manufacture precision parts according to technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and experience working with CNC machinery and precision measuring equipment. This position requires the ability to work independently while maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards throughout the shift. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC machines, including mills, lathes, routers, and other CNC equipment Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications Input, edit, and make necessary adjustments to CNC programs Load materials, tools, and fixtures and properly set machine offsets Monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet required specifications Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments Make machine and tooling adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and production requirements Identify and troubleshoot machining or equipment issues Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment concerns Complete required production, inspection, and quality documentation Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Communicate production, quality, and equipment concerns to supervisors and other team members Work independently and efficiently during 2nd shift while meeting production expectations
Required Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical or machining certification preferred Previous CNC machining or CNC machine operation experience Knowledge of CNC machinery and G-code programming Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents Ability to use precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers Basic computer skills; familiarity with CAD/CAM software is a plus Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work independently with limited supervision Ability to work effectively as part of a team Dependable attendance and ability to consistently work the assigned 2nd shift schedule
