2nd Shift Machine Operator

Pay: $17.25 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable machine operator to join our manufacturing team in the Water Pump & Cylinder Head department. The primary focus is to operate, monitor, and maintain machinery to ensure continuous, high-quality production of water pumps and cylinder heads. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, basic technical skills, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and maintain manufacturing machinery within the Water Pump & Cylinder Head department to ensure smooth production flow.
- Use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and thread gauge pidgeons to verify parts accuracy and quality standards.
- Apply torque specifications accurately during assembly and operational procedures.
- Monitor touchscreen interfaces for notifications, troubleshoot, and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Prepare, organize, and manage raw materials and supplies to maintain continuous production without shortages.
- Support quality control by performing basic math calculations and measurements to verify parts and assemblies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following safety protocols and company standards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.
- Follow safety practices, including the use of PPE such as ear plugs, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots.
- Perform manual tasks including heavy lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, stooping, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods.
Required Qualifications:
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with touchscreen technology.
- Ability to read and write fluently in English.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent math skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual tasks such as standing, stooping, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods.
- Prior experience operating manufacturing machinery is a plus but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, assembly line work, and assembly processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with machine operation in a manufacturing environment.
Tools, Equipment, and Systems:
- Precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, and thread gauge pidgeons.
- Touchscreen interfaces for machinery operation and troubleshooting.
- Basic computer systems relevant to manufacturing processes.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Manufacturing shop floor environment with exposure to fumes, airborne particles, noise, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive hand and finger movements.
- Extended periods of standing, stooping, and kneeling during shifts.
- PPE required includes ear plugs, safety glasses, steel-toe shoes/boots, gloves.
