Job Description
Classroom Teacher
Position Summary
The Classroom Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and ensuring all students achieve academic success. The teacher will plan, implement, and assess instruction in accordance with the standards set forth by the Texas Education Agency and the district, while fostering a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Planning & Delivery
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the TEKS and district curriculum
- Deliver rigorous, standards-based instruction that meets the diverse needs of all learners
- Use a variety of instructional strategies, including differentiation and scaffolding
- Integrate technology and instructional resources to enhance student learning
Student Assessment & Data Use
- Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments aligned to TEKS standards
- Analyze student data to inform instruction and adjust teaching strategies
- Monitor and document student growth and mastery of content standards
- Prepare students for state assessments and district benchmarks
Classroom Management & Culture
- Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Implement effective classroom management systems that support student engagement and behavior expectations
- Build strong relationships with students to support academic and social-emotional growth
Compliance & Professional Responsibilities
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and ethical standards established by the Texas Education Agency
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including attendance and grades
- Participate in required professional development and training
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to improve instructional practices
Parent & Community Engagement
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events
- Support school initiatives and community engagement efforts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (required)
- Valid Texas teaching certificate appropriate for the (preferred)
- Demonstrated knowledge of the TEKS and state assessment requirements
- Strong instructional, organizational, and classroom management skills
- Ability to analyze data and adjust instruction to improve student outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience in a public or charter school setting
- Experience with data-driven instruction and intervention strategies
- Bilingual or ESL certification (if applicable to campus needs)

Work Environment
