Qualifications:
  • Must hold a Valid Kansas Teaching Licensure or have a plan for obtaining
  • K-12 Low Incidence Endorsement, but open to Valid Kansas SPED endorsement
  • Special education experience preferred
Role Overview:
As Resource Special Education Teacher, you will support serve special education students with diverse learning needs by creating inclusive and personalized educational plans that help them thrive both academically and emotionally. Services are provided in small classroom sizes with emphasis on individualized instruction. Targeted areas maybe: academic instruction, behavior interventions focused on targeted IEP goals, early intervention behavior management, positive behavior supports, social skills development, and accountability. The special education teacher is responsible for the implementation of the district curriculum in a way that maximizes student learning. The teacher is responsible for the supervision and evaluation of all students within his/her teaching assignment.

  • Locations TBD
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7: 30am- 3: 30pm (hours may vary based on school)
  • Full-time and Part-time options available
  • Dates: 8/9/26-5/20/27 estimated based on school calendar

  • Have a strong understanding of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practice
  • Believe in building relationships and creating a safe, connected classroom environment.
  • Are able to maintain high expectations while using positive behavior supports and proactive classroom management strategies.
  • Are collaborative team members who work well with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families.
  • Are organized and able to manage data collection, documentation, and communication effectively.
  • Experience with inclusive or unified early childhood settings, special education, Conscious Discipline, trauma-informed practices, or social-emotional learning would be a significant asset.
