Founded as a nonprofit community mediation center in 2019, Cecil County Community Mediation Center provides free and accessible alternative conflict resolution programs and services for all Cecil County community members regardless of their ability to pay. - - - Cecil County Community Mediation Center offers a wide range of mediation, facilitation, diversion, and community support services. Programs include the Attendance Mediation and Truancy Diversion Program, Community Safety (Police) Referral Program, District Court ADR Pre-file, Pre-Trial, and Day-of-Trial Programs, Family Mediation Program, Peace Order Mediation Program, Police Complaint Mediation Program, Prison Re-entry Mediation Program (post-release only at this time), Recovery Re-entry Mediation Program, and the State's Attorney's Mediation Program. The organization also provides Individualized Education Program (IEP) Meeting Facilitation, Group Meeting Facilitation, and Remote Hearing Access services. - - - In addition to its mediation services, Cecil County Community Mediation Center actively participates in and supports community-based initiatives. The mediation center is a member of the Cecil County Behavioral Health Advisory Council and coordinates the CARE Coalition, a community coalition addressing local barriers to successful reentry after incarceration. Cecil County Community Mediation Center also supports the Hollingsworth Manor Community Project in partnership with the Hollingsworth Landing Association (HLA) and Sheilagh''s Pantry. Member Duties : Mediate cases for community members, community organizations, schools, recently released incarcerated individuals, and local agencies. Coordinate all aspects of case management with a focus on intake and mediation coordination.
