St. Catherine's School is an Episcopal day school in Richmond, Virginia, founded in 1890 enrolling roughly 950 girls age 3 through grade 12. POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Auxiliary Programs and Services is a  leadership role focused on strategically  growing and managing summer programs, enrichment offerings, facility rentals, and Saints Shop revenue. The Director of Auxiliary Programs and Services will report to the Chief Operating Officer and work collaboratively across other departments of the School including the Business Office, Arts, Academics, Athletics, Communications, and Admissions. 

This role oversees the planning, development, operations, marketing, budgeting, and evaluation of all auxiliary programs and services. This position will identify opportunities for growth, develop innovative programs, and enhance community engagement in support of the School’s mission.

Successful candidates will have the energy and ambition to manage and develop St. Catherine’s School Auxiliary Programs and Services to the highest degree of excellence. They will be organized, highly attentive to detail, and motivated by authentic interest in the experience of the participants in the programs. 

Supervisor: Chief Operating Officer

Supervisory Responsibilities: Director of Afterschool Programming and Enrichment for Lower School; Auxiliary Administrative Assistant; Saint’s Shop Supervisor

Position Status: Salaried, exempt, full-time, regular, 12-month schedule

Hours of Work: Standard work week. Evening and weekend work may be required.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leadership in program development, program management, financial management, marketing, recruiting, hiring, and personnel management.
  • Design, enhance, and expand program offerings that align with long-term strategic auxiliary programs vision and financial objectives
  • Continually explore innovative opportunities for leveraging the intellectual and physical assets of the School, supporting school admissions
  • Annually collect and analyze input from participants and staff regarding the quality of their program experience
  • Develop and strengthen strategic partnerships
  • Oversee daily operations of and manage all auxiliary programs including but not limited to: summer programs, after school programs, Saints Shop, and facility rentals while focusing on best practices
  • Work cross-departmentally to ensure participant safety, proper space utilization, technology readiness, and comprehensive program support
  • Monitor revenues and expenses on a monthly basis, and in accordance with budgetary restrictions, for bottom-line performance across all programs
  • In coordination with the Director of Communications, develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy for all auxiliary programs that aligns with the School’s strategic branding initiatives
  • Lead recruitment efforts across all programs. 
  • Prepare, with the Business Office, financial reporting and review metrics for all programs
  • Ensure that all auxiliary programs are in compliance with all applicable regulations of licensing and governing entities
  • Coordinate and conduct real-time personnel communication and ongoing performance management for all auxiliary program staff

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to grasp, handle and feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; talk and hear; engage in moderately strenuous physical activity both indoors and out; and smell. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Masters degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience managing auxiliary programs or equivalent
  • The ability to think strategically in developing, enhancing, and refining summer/auxiliary programs 
  • The ability to define and implement processes which support auxiliary program success
  • The ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across all departments and divisions
  • The ability to work independently with basic guidelines/parameters and minimal supervision
  • The ability to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously
  • A high level of integrity and professionalism in all aspects of the position including but not limited to the handling of confidential and sensitive data
