Job Title: Residency Program Coordinator (Part-Time)

Primary Purpose:
The Residency Program Coordinator is responsible for the implementation, coordination, and continuous improvement of the PREP (Preparing and Retaining Educators through Partnerships) Residency Allotment programs. This position works collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners, such as Educator Prep Programs (EPP), to recruit, develop, and retain high-quality teachers through year-long paid residency models.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (required)
Master's degree or mid-management certification (preferred)
Valid Texas teaching certificate (required)
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong understanding of beginning teacher development and certification pathways
Knowledge of the T-TESS appraisal system
Effective instructional coaching, problem-solving, and conferencing skills
Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and reporting requirements
Demonstrated professionalism, ethical conduct, and role modeling
Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with diverse stakeholders
Adaptability, initiative, and commitment to continuous professional growth
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of classroom teaching experience
Experience in campus and/or district leadership roles preferred
Instructional coaching experience preferred
Demonstrated leadership in professional development and team collaboration
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Management
Design, implement, and oversee the PREP Residency Preservice Program.
Facilitate all requirements associated with the PREP allotment Residency Program.
Develop program structures, timelines, and evaluation systems aligned with district and TEA expectations.
Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and ongoing program communication for residents.
Recruitment and Placement
Collaborate with campus administrators to recruit, select and place teacher residents and host teachers.
Confirm and monitor effective host teacher/resident pairings.
Support hiring processes for residency candidates in collaboration with Human Resources.
Partnership Coordination
Work closely with EPP and ESC Region 12 staff to ensure high-quality residency experiences.
Conduct needs assessments and support program design aligned with instructional goals and staffing needs.
Schedule, develop an agenda, and take meeting minutes for quarterly strategic staffing meetings with the partnership university (governance meetings).
Mentorship and Support
Coordinate Texas Mentor Training and provide guidance, expectations, and resources for host teachers.
Observe residents' instructional practices and provide feedback, coaching, and support.
Conduct regular campus visits to support and encourage residents and host teachers.
Data, Compliance and Reporting
Monitor and manage PREP allotment funding and program budgets.
Track candidate data, survey results, and performance indicators to ensure compliance with TEA requirements.
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting systems.
Collaboration and Communication
Establish and maintain strong communication with campus principals, district leaders, and program partners.
Collaborate with the District Mentor Coordinator and Human Resources to align residency initiatives with district goals.
Facilitate meetings, trainings sessions, and program updates.
