Systems Architect – Command and Control (C2BMC)

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Systems Architect to join our integrated architecture and systems engineering team on a multi-company program supporting both Missile Defense and Space. The selected candidate will define and develop operational, physical, functional, and technical architectures for evolving Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) systems. This role involves collaboration with various engineering teams to design innovative architecture solutions that leverage existing and COTS/GOTS components, ensuring DoD interoperability and mission success.


Position Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with architects, software developers, network engineers, cyber engineers, and DevSecOps teams to create System Architecture solutions for C2BMC systems.
  • Analyze high-level requirements and develop innovative architecture solutions for new and emerging C2BMC capabilities.
  • Design both logical and physical architectures for the system.
  • Interface with project leads, product owners, and MDA customers to communicate and refine architectural concepts.
  • Present architecture concepts and solutions at internal and external design reviews to diverse audiences.
  • Use MBSE tools, such as CAMEO, to document and review system architectures.
  • Stay informed on current and emerging DoD Command and Control technologies and methodologies.
  • Support development, testing, and deployment efforts as the focal point for system architecture.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience or advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
  • Expertise in solving complex problems with creativity and ingenuity.
  • Demonstrated project leadership experience and ability to serve as a primary technical contact for significant contracts.
  • Active SECRET clearance or higher.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Systems Engineering/Architecture with test expertise on a DoD program.
  • Strong desire to function as a Systems Architect in a complex Command and Control DoD Program.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Expertise in at least two of the following areas:
    1. C2BMC or similar complex DoD Command and Control (C2) systems.
    2. Development of innovative System Architecture concepts and solutions.
    3. Information Technology, Computer Science, Software, or Network engineering experience on integrated teams.
    4. Experience as a Technical Lead or SME in Systems Engineering, particularly in Missile Defense, Space, or Link 16 domains.
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.

Additional Notes

  • Work will be conducted as part of an Agile Scrum team under the C2BMC Regional Systems Engineering Manager.
  • Position requires on-site work in a secure facility (100% in-office).
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Experience working with or familiarity with Al/ML models is preferred.
