The Department of Economics & Finance invites applicants for a Full-time, Tenure-Track, Assistant/Associate Professor of Finance position. The position begins in August 2027.

    The faculty position involves teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level courses that may be offered in in-person, online, and/or hybrid modalities depending on departmental needs. The ideal candidate will use innovative teaching skills and demonstrate strong attention to the learning and teaching needs of the department's students. Their experience, substantive specialization, and pedagogical training will serve to strengthen the departments mission and vision. The faculty will collaborate with other departmental and college faculty & staff to ensure student success.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Teach undergraduate and MBA, including electives, principles, and intermediate level courses in Economics & Finance courses in approved modalities. Additional courses may be assigned based on area of specialization depending on department needs. Teaching assignments will include opportunities for teaching through distance learning.
    • Advise and support student success by maintaining office hours
    • Conduct scholarly research at an appropriate level for an AACSB accredited school of business that is consistent with West Chester Universitys scholarly academic standards. Faculty are expected to present results from their research at professional meetings and publish in referred journals.
    • Contribute to maintaining the colleges AACSB accreditation
    • Serve the Department and University community through participation in various committees
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited program. ABD may be considered - Doctoral dissertation must be successfully completed on or before August 2027
    • Experience teaching undergraduate level courses
    • Record of scholarship and research accomplishments

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Professional work experience in Financial Markets & Institutions; and/or
    • Professional work experience in Financial Planning; and/or
    • Experience using empirical methods including emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, fintech, and/or digital assets in finance; and/or
    • Experience teaching graduate level courses; and/or
    • Experience teaching in various modalities, including online synchronous, online asynchronous, or a hybrid format
