    Hourly Pay:*$28.64

    Summary:

    This position will teach after school enrichment and/or academic support classes to K-5 students in our 21st Century Community Learning Centers. May include class design or implementation of a pre-designed class or curriculum. Funded by the 21st Century grant, this position must follow all grant guidelines as instructed by the Site Coordinator and Program Director. Program hours are from 2:50-4:50, Monday through Thursday.

    Responsibilities:

    • Designs and/or teaches approved classes in assigned 21st Century Centers. Classes will be age and grade appropriate for groups of 10-20 students.
    • Follows all program guidelines including taking attendance, learning safety protocols and providing a safe and engaging environment for students. Complies with all BVSD and grant requirements.
    • Set up and break down space used for class, including cleaning after each class to ensure classrooms are left as they were found or better.
    • Ensures all program materials used are maintained in good condition and returned to site coordinators at the end of each program day, as needed.
    • Communicates concerns and behavior challenges as instructed in program protocols and/or by site coordinators or the program director. Including asking for help when needed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Experience teaching, assisting, supervising and/or working with school aged children (K-5th grades) in structured activities.

    OR

    • Bachelors degree

    OR

    • Graduate of BVSD Boulder TEC Teacher Academy Program
    • Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English.
    • Completed and submitted BVSD online application.

    Preferred:

    • Bachelors degree in education or related field

    • Minimum of 1 year experience working with and supervising school aged children (K-5th grades) in a group setting

    • Current CPR/First Aid certification

    • Experience teaching, leading or facilitating children's programs

    • Bilingual Spanish/English

    Salary Information:

    Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
