Mercury Systems is seeking a motivated and innovative Manufacturing Test Engineering Intern eager to learn, contribute, and bring fresh ideas to our high-speed Processing Module manufacturing operations. In this hands-on role, you''ll support test engineering activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, working directly with production teams to improve test processes, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to the development of next-generation manufacturing test solutions for mission-critical electronic systems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the development, debug, and validation of automated test procedures for high-speed Processing Modules on the production floor
- Assist in troubleshooting test failures and collaborate with engineering to drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Contribute to manufacturing process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing test yield, throughput, and efficiency
- Help design, build, and qualify test fixtures and equipment used in production test stations
- Analyze test data to identify trends, recurring failures, and opportunities for process optimization
- Create and maintain test documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
- Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Design Engineering teams to resolve production issues in real time
- Support new product introduction (NPI) activities by helping transition test processes from engineering to production
- Perform calibration checks and routine maintenance/inventory of manufacturing test equipment
- Provide general engineering support to test engineers and production technicians as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a bachelor's or master''s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical discipline
- A minimum GPA of 3.1 is required. You will be asked to submit your transcripts during the review process
- Familiarity with a modern scripting language, such as Python, for test automation
- Basic understanding of electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, logic analyzers)
- Exposure to digital and analog circuit fundamentals
- Familiarity with Linux development environments and tools
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as GIT/BitBucket for version control
- Familiarity with AI tools to support engineering productivity and problem solving
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment
