Our vision is to enable profitable growth to Aramarks Accounts by providing them with analytical assets that meet their needs as effectively and then efficiently as possible. To achieve this vision, Aramark will deliver strategic data assets that enable our operators to maximize the hospitality experience for our consumers and clients.

We are seeking a Data Engineering Intern to join our team for a 10-12 week program during Summer 2027. Youll work alongside our data engineering team to support the continued evolution of our enterprise data platform and application stack, gaining hands-on exposure to cloud-native, service-oriented data products that power data ingestion, processing, and analytics and AI-driven capabilities across Aramark. This internship is designed as a launchpad into a data engineering career track, with the opportunity to convert into a Junior Data Engineer role upon successful completion and graduation.

This is a hybrid role based at our Philadelphia headquarters. Candidates must be local to the area or able to relocate for the summer, and willing to work onsite in a hybrid capacity.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Write, review, and contribute to code alongside our engineering team, working closely with senior and junior data engineers to build strong technical fundamentals.
    • Get hands-on exposure to cloud-native data product components used across Aramarks enterprise and line-of-business teams.
    • Support reusable data platform capabilities, ingestion frameworks, and data products (via dbt, Azure Logic Apps/Function Apps, and Snowflake) that enable self-service analytics across the enterprise.
    • Assist in the design and operation of data pipelines, including monitoring, observability, testing, and recovery mechanisms, under close guidance.
    • Shadow and assist with integration and synchronization work between source systems (on-premises and SaaS) and cloud-native platforms.
    • Work on guided data transformation tasks (dbt) alongside senior team members to unlock analytical and AI-driven capabilities.
    • Learn data engineering best practices - including CI/CD for data, testing standards, and code review norms - through pairing and mentorship.
    • Take on a summer capstone project, presenting results and learnings to the broader team at the end of the internship.

    Qualifications

Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029. Coursework or personal projects involving:

No prior professional data engineering experience required - were looking for strong fundamentals, curiosity, and eagerness to learn.

Comfortable working across distributed teams and eager to develop the ability to communicate technical concepts with both engineers and non-technical business stakeholders.

    Preferred Qualifications:
