Overview:
Teachers will utilize a variety of instructional techniques and learning opportunities to enable students to develop competencies and skills which will ensure student success in the assigned subject area and in society.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate's degree or higher in a Culinary or Hospitality related area
Skills/Knowledge:
- Valid appropriate Texas Career & Technical (CTE) Certificate preferred.
- Experience as a chef.
- Two year college certificate or equivalent.
- Must have or qualify to obtain Food Service Manager Certificate.
- Applicant must be able to specify, select, inventory, install, operate, and maintain all equipment.
- Must be fully computer literate.
- Knowledge of CTE programming essential.
- Repetitive motion and eye strain through extensive utilization of computer hardware and software.
- Requires standing for extended periods of time and some heavy lifting.
- Sponsor a CTSO organization.
- Some after hours and weekend requirements for catering events.
Experience:
- Three years' full time work experience in the Culinary area
Minimum Teacher Salary
$63,810 (2025/2026 Compensation Plan)
- Salary determination will be based on verified relevant work experience.
- Salary will be adjusted to the start date.
